Have Questions?
How should we dress for our family session?
I’ve got you! Once you book your session, I’ll send you my Welcome Guide, which includes styling advice, colour palettes and tips to help you choose outfits that photograph beautifully together.
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourselves. I generally recommend coordinating rather than everyone wearing exactly the same thing, choosing soft, neutral or earthy tones, and avoiding large logos or busy patterns.
And if you’re still unsure, you’re always welcome to send me photos of your outfit options and I’ll help you choose!
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
There’s no strict deadline for newborn photos — the best time is whenever feels right for your family.
For those wanting those sleepy, curled-up newborn photographs, I generally recommend the first 2–3 weeks. However, I love photographing babies beyond this stage too. Older newborns are often more alert, expressive and interactive, which creates a completely different kind of beautiful imagery.
My sessions are relaxed and baby-led, so there’s no need to worry if your baby needs feeding, changing, cuddles or a break. We simply go with the flow.
We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera. Is that okay?
Absolutely! In fact, most of my clients tell me this before their session.
You don’t need to know how to pose or what to do with your hands — that’s my job! I’ll give you gentle prompts and guide you throughout the session, while also giving you plenty of opportunities to simply interact with your family.
I’m much more interested in capturing the connection between you than creating perfectly posed photographs. So play with your kids, cuddle them, chase them, tickle them and enjoy being together. I’ll take care of the rest.
What happens if my child won’t cooperate?
This is completely normal! Kids don’t always follow the plan, and honestly, some of my favourite images happen when they don't.
I won’t expect your children to sit still and smile for an hour. We’ll play, explore and keep things moving. If they need a snack, a cuddle or a little break, we take one. My sessions are designed around real families — not perfect behaviour.
What if it rains?
Queensland weather can be unpredictable! If the weather isn’t suitable for your session, we’ll reschedule to another available date. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and make the call with your family's comfort and the quality of your images in mind.
Can we bring our dog?
Absolutely! I’m dog friendly. 🐾
Your dog is part of your family, so they’re more than welcome to join your session. Just let me know beforehand so I can plan the session around including them.
What happens if my child is shy?
There’s no pressure to immediately smile or interact with me. I’ll give them time to get comfortable and will usually start by photographing you together rather than putting all the attention on them.
Some children need a little longer to warm up — and that's okay. By the end, they’re often running around like they’ve known me forever!
Can we bring grandparents or other family members?
Absolutely. Just let me know how many people will be attending when you enquire, as this can affect the type of session and location that works best.
Do you provide the location?
I can recommend locations throughout Brisbane and South East Queensland, depending on the type of session and the feel you're looking for. If you have somewhere special in mind, I'm also happy to discuss it with you.
When should we book our family session?
I recommend booking as early as possible, particularly if you have a specific date, weekend or season in mind. Weekends and golden-hour sessions can fill quickly.
Do you offer prints and albums?
Yes! Your digital images are beautiful on a screen, but there’s something special about having your family photographs printed and displayed in your home. I offer a range of professional print and artwork options.
What should we bring to our session?
Keep it simple! Bring anything your family might need to be comfortable — snacks, water, nappies, wipes and a favourite comfort item for little ones. For beach sessions, I also recommend bringing a towel and a change of clothes, especially if the kids are likely to end up in the water!
